EMERGENCY RESPONSE LEAD

Role purpose

Emergency governance and preparedness

• Maintain corporate requirements and documentation for emergency preparedness, response planning, and capabilities across onshore, offshore, port, marine, and diving operations.
• Ensure oil spill preparedness and response arrangements align with national legislation, conventions, and standards.
• Monitor implementation of emergency preparedness and response standards; advise on crisis-management and business-continuity planning.
• Review directorate and department emergency response plans for compliance and credible-scenario coverage.
• Periodically assess emergency readiness, response capabilities, and public and community preparedness.
• Establish performance criteria, monitoring, and reporting processes for the emergency management system.
• Develop standardized training for tiered response and management teams and govern implementation, evaluation, and improvement.
• Develop recovery strategies and collaborate with business-continuity teams to support return to normal operations.

Experience and skills

• At least 15 years in emergency management, fire safety, or occupational health and safety in the oil and gas, chemical, or petrochemical industry.
• A minimum of 10 years in a similar position is preferred.
• In-depth emergency preparedness and response knowledge, plus some knowledge of crisis management and business continuity in the relevant industries.
• Excellent English presentation and report-writing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or Emergency Management.
