Sr. Mechanical Estimator – Utilities Infrastructure

Job purpose

Tender and estimation

• Review bid documents, drawings, specifications, bills of quantities, and scopes of work.
• Estimate mechanical works for package and conventional sewage treatment plants, sewage and stormwater pump stations, potable-water and irrigation networks, and rising mains.
• Take off quantities for pumps, blowers, mixers, screens, piping, valves, fittings, chambers, mechanical equipment, and accessories.
• Build costs for materials, equipment, installation labor, testing and commissioning, and subcontract works.
• Identify bill-of-quantity and drawing discrepancies and prepare clarifications.

Vendor and subcontractor management

• Identify, evaluate, and liaise with approved mechanical suppliers and subcontractors.
• Issue RFQs for pumps, electromechanical equipment, packaged sewage treatment plants, and mechanical installation subcontractors.
• Compare quotations technically and commercially and recommend compliant, cost-effective alternatives through value engineering.

Technical coordination

• Coordinate with civil, electrical, and process disciplines during tendering.
• Ensure compliance with ADSSC, DMT, ADM, and ADDC standards, project specifications, and applicable BS, ASTM, and ISO codes.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of mechanical estimation experience, including at least 3–5 years in utilities infrastructure, sewage treatment plants, or pump stations.
• UAE/GCC experience is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of sewage treatment processes and mechanical equipment, pump stations, DI/HDPE/GRP piping, valves, chambers, fittings, and local authority requirements.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, attention to detail, ability to meet tight tender deadlines, coordination, and clear communication and reporting.
• Design & Build utilities-project experience is listed among the technical and behavioral competencies.

Pay

• AED 22,000–25,000 per month.

Schedule

• Five working days per week.
