The Mechanical Site Engineer manages day-to-day site operations for HVAC, plumbing, water and drainage, and firefighting systems.
The role connects engineering drawings with field installation and ensures compliance with approved plans, local regulations, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise mechanical installations and subcontractor progress, quality, and workforce distribution.
- Review shop drawings and resolve clashes with mechanical, electrical, and civil structures; support authority compliance.
- Manage technical submittals, inspection requests, material requests, test reports, as-built drawings, and commissioning documentation.
- Report site progress and coordinate manpower, materials, subcontractors, and procurement to meet project milestones.
- Witness and execute pressure testing, balancing, and commissioning; enforce site HSE standards.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 10–12 years of site-based experience in building construction or MEP contracting.
- Proficiency in reading layout blueprints and deep understanding of international and local construction codes, including ASHRAE and NFPA.
- Competence using AutoCAD 2D/3D and MS Excel for report drafting.
- Problem-solving, communication, and subcontractor negotiation skills.
