Knowledge
- Hazard identification and risk assessment.
Minimum qualification
- General Diploma or Bachelor of Technology (BTech) is listed as the minimum qualification.
Job responsibilities
- Conduct detailed Job Safety Analysis for critical activities such as transformer installation, cable pulling, and switchyard gantry erection.
- Manage and audit the Permit-to-Work system, ensuring personnel are authorized before entering energized or restricted areas.
- Enforce Lockout/Tagout procedures to ensure equipment is de-energized and safe for installation, maintenance, or testing.
- Oversee electrical safety compliance; ensure tools, equipment, and PPE meet voltage requirements and are inspected and tested.
- Verify temporary grounding and earthing systems during construction to prevent accidental energization.
- Monitor excavation and trenching for grounding-grid installation, including shoring, utility detection, and safe work practices.
- Conduct site-specific safety inductions for employees, contractors, and visitors, and lead daily toolbox talks on high-risk activities.
- Investigate incidents and near misses using Root Cause Analysis, identify corrective and preventive actions, and support continuous improvement in site safety.
