The Senior .NET Developer will design, build, and deliver high-quality, scalable enterprise SaaS applications.
This is a hands-on role with full ownership of work, including testing and quality.
Location is stated as Canada, remote; contract duration is 6–12+ months with possible extension.
What you'll do
- Break complex problems into smaller parts, design solutions, and implement core frameworks.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using C#, .NET Core, Entity Framework, and Web API.
- Apply Domain-Driven Design and CQRS to build modular, scalable systems.
- Design SQL Server databases, write stored procedures, optimize queries, and tune performance.
- Use Entity Framework for ORM and data access.
- Write clean, testable, maintainable, and documented code.
- Own unit, integration, and performance testing in a shift-left setup without a QA team.
- Collaborate with product managers and teams to understand requirements and deliver customer-focused features.
- Use AI development tools for code generation, refactoring, documentation, and development speed.
What you should bring
- 5+ years of enterprise or SaaS software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with C#, .NET Core, and Web API.
- Experience with Angular or another frontend framework.
- Experience with Entity Framework, EF Core or EF6.
- SQL Server experience including queries, stored procedures, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and enterprise architecture.
- Experience with DDD, CQRS, and clean layering of business logic and data access.
- Familiarity with multithreading, asynchronous programming, and system performance tuning.
- Comfort with Git and modern development environments, including CI/CD and Agile.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills; written and verbal English communication; experience across multiple teams or squads.
- Active daily use of AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar is required.
