Sr. Advanced Services Consulting Engineer

Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Track HPE Premium Care, Advanced Care, Optimization Service, and related service deliverables.
• Coordinate critical issue escalation and act as an interlock between customers and HPE Professional Services, Advanced Services, and Engineering.
• Engage early on major projects to define service requirements, manage risks, and set expectations.
• Review service delivery metrics, SLAs, and quality with customers and internal teams.
• Assess software defects and deployment risks, then develop mitigation plans with customers.
• Deliver technical analysis such as impact assessments, health checks, upgrade analysis, and configuration reviews.
• Review network plans and support feature implementation and product deployment.
• Document customer network solutions and educate internal HPE resources.

Requirements and Experience

• The role generally seeks 8+ years of experience designing, implementing, and solving technical problems in datacenter and IP/MPLS networks.
• Candidates should have high exposure to network operations and be able to operate independently in an unstructured environment.
• A bachelor's degree in electrical or electronic engineering, computer science, or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
• Customer-facing experience and experience with large enterprises or network service providers are advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Core networking knowledge includes TCP/IP, QoS, VLAN, STP, IPsec, NAT, and IPv6.
• Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocol experience may include VRRP, OSPF, BGP, Multicast, and MPLS VPN.
• Segment Routing, traffic engineering, datacenter switching, VxLAN, EVPN, SD-WAN, and wireless technologies are advantageous.
• Experience or interest in automation is valuable.
• HPE Juniper, Aruba, EdgeConnect certifications such as JNCIS, JNCIP, or JNCIE, or equivalents are helpful.

Workplace

• The role is designated onsite, with an expectation that the employee will primarily work from an HPE office.
