Astra ProMed seeks an experienced, patient-focused Specialist Gastroenterologist for its healthcare team in Dubai.
The role diagnoses, treats, and manages gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary disorders with evidence-based, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct consultations, medical histories, and examinations; diagnose and manage disorders throughout the gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary systems.
- Manage conditions including GERD, gastritis, ulcers, IBS, inflammatory bowel disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, hepatitis, and fatty liver disease.
- Request and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, endoscopy, histopathology, and other investigations; perform or assist with appropriate procedures within licensed competency.
- Manage patients before and after procedures; develop treatment plans and explain diagnoses, options, risks, and follow-up.
- Maintain confidential medical records and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Participate in meetings, quality improvement, audits, and continuing professional development; comply with regulations, guidelines, infection control, and facility policies.
Qualifications
- MBBS, MD, or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Recognized postgraduate qualification in Gastroenterology and/or Internal Medicine with appropriate gastroenterology specialization.
- Relevant experience working as a Gastroenterology Specialist.
- Valid DHA license/eligibility or eligibility to obtain a Dubai professional license; meets applicable UAE PQR for the Specialist title.
- Current professional registration and relevant Good Standing documentation, where applicable.
