Role overview

Clinical responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage urinary tract disorders, kidney stones, prostate diseases, and male reproductive health conditions.
• Perform cystoscopy, ureteroscopy, transurethral procedures, laser lithotripsy, stone removal, and endoscopic interventions within clinical privileges.
• Evaluate and treat BPH, urinary incontinence, urinary tract infections, and bladder disorders; manage urological emergencies.
• Diagnose and manage urological cancers with oncology specialists; perform minimally invasive, laparoscopic, or robotic-assisted surgery when appropriately trained.
• Interpret diagnostic investigations, conduct pre-operative assessments, provide post-operative care, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Follow DHA regulations, surgical safety protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards.

Qualifications and requirements

• MBBS/MD or equivalent recognized medical degree, postgraduate qualification in Urology or Urological Surgery, and board certification or equivalent consultant-level qualification.
• Eligible for DHA Consultant Urology classification or license in Dubai, subject to UAE PQR requirements and clinical privileges.
• Minimum 5–10 years of relevant post-specialization experience is preferred.
• Strong expertise in endourology, urological surgery, kidney stone management, and prostate disorders.
• Internationally recognized qualifications are highly desirable; experience in laser urology, laparoscopic surgery, or robotic-assisted procedures is highly desirable.
