Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage musculoskeletal disorders, fractures, joint diseases, and orthopedic injuries.
• Perform orthopedic surgeries, including fracture fixation, joint reconstruction, and arthroscopic procedures, within authorized clinical privileges.
• Evaluate and manage sports injuries, ligament tears, tendon injuries, and degenerative joint conditions.
• Provide surgical and non-surgical treatment for fractures, dislocations, and musculoskeletal trauma.
• Perform arthroscopic procedures and joint replacement surgeries where appropriately trained and credentialed.
• Conduct pre-operative assessments and develop individualized surgical treatment plans.
• Interpret X-rays, CT scans, MRI, and other musculoskeletal imaging.
• Provide post-operative care, monitor recovery, and manage surgical complications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals and educate patients about treatment, rehabilitation, and injury prevention.
• Comply with DHA regulations, surgical safety protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards.

Qualifications and requirements

• MBBS/MD or equivalent recognized medical degree.
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Orthopedic Surgery and board certification or equivalent recognized specialist-level qualification.
• American Board, UK, Canadian, Australian, European, or other internationally recognized qualifications are highly desirable.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant post-specialization experience is preferred, subject to applicable licensing requirements.
• Strong expertise in orthopedic trauma, fracture management, joint disorders, and surgical procedures.
• Strong surgical skills, clinical judgment, and multidisciplinary collaboration abilities.
• Eligible for DHA Specialist Orthopedic Surgery classification/license in Dubai, subject to applicable UAE PQR requirements.
