Role overview

Clinical care

• Consult, diagnose, and treat ear, nose, throat, and upper-airway disorders, including hearing loss, otitis media, tinnitus, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, and nasal obstruction.
• Manage tonsillitis, adenoid and voice disorders, swallowing difficulties, vertigo, and balance-related conditions.
• Perform appropriate ENT procedures and minor surgery within scope; conduct nasal endoscopy, otoscopy, and other examinations where appropriately trained.
• Provide medical and surgical management of acute and chronic conditions, including pre-operative and post-operative care; refer complex cases as needed.

Patient and team responsibilities

• Collaborate with audiologists, speech therapists, radiologists, pediatricians, and other specialists.
• Maintain clinical documentation and comply with patient-safety and clinical-governance standards.
• Educate patients about treatment, medication, follow-up, and preventive care.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, teaching, and CME activities.

Qualifications and experience

• MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree and a recognized postgraduate qualification in ENT/Otolaryngology.
• Board certification or equivalent recognized specialist qualification.
• Minimum five years of post-specialization ENT experience, with strong general ENT diagnostic and management experience.
• Experience in ENT procedures and minor surgical interventions.
• Eligible for MOHAP Specialist classification/license in Sharjah.
• Excellent clinical, communication, and patient-management skills.
