Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, and other endocrine conditions.
• Treat Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, including insulin therapy and advanced diabetes management.
• Manage hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodules, and other thyroid diseases.
• Diagnose and treat pituitary, adrenal, parathyroid, and other hormonal disorders.
• Manage obesity, metabolic syndrome, osteoporosis, and calcium metabolism disorders.
• Interpret hormonal profiles, HbA1c, thyroid function tests, and endocrine imaging.
• Develop individualized treatment plans using clinical assessments and evidence-based guidelines.
• Monitor chronic endocrine conditions and adjust treatment to optimize outcomes.
• Educate patients on prevention, lifestyle, nutrition, and long-term disease management.
• Collaborate with relevant medical specialists and dietitians.
• Follow DHA regulations, clinical protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards.

Qualifications and requirements

• MBBS, MD, or equivalent recognized medical degree.
• Recognized postgraduate Internal Medicine qualification followed by Endocrinology specialization or subspecialty training.
• Board certification or equivalent recognized specialist-level qualification.
• Internationally recognized qualifications are highly desirable.
• Three to five years of relevant post-specialization experience is preferred, subject to licensing requirements.
• Strong expertise in diabetes, thyroid, hormonal, and metabolic conditions.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient management skills.
• Eligible for DHA Specialist Endocrinology classification or license in Dubai, subject to UAE PQR requirements.
