Education and experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two years of experience in a spa, guest services, or a related professional area.
Spa operations and budgets
- Assume the Spa Director's responsibilities in their absence.
- Ensure employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms; manage supplies and equipment inventory within budget.
- Review budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports as needed for departmental financial management.
- Maintain cleanliness of the spa, related areas, and equipment.
- Understand the department's financial impact and manage operations to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
Guest service
- Set a positive example in guest relations, obtain feedback on product quality and service, and handle guest problems and complaints.
- Empower employees to provide excellent service; emphasize guest satisfaction and continuous improvement in meetings.
- Work to improve service performance.
People management
- Solicit employee feedback, address concerns, clarify expectations, and bring issues to department management or Human Resources as appropriate.
- Observe employee service behaviors and provide feedback; participate in progressive discipline and employee recognition.
- Support new-hire orientation and training, supervise ongoing training initiatives, and conduct training when appropriate.
- Build collaborative team relationships, celebrate successes, and recognize team contributions.
- Administer policies consistently and complete disciplinary procedures and documentation according to operating procedures; support the Peer Review Process.
- Assist the Spa Director with day-to-day spa operations as needed.
