Role overview

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain SmartPlant 3D project environments and SmartPlant Reference Data databases.
• Prepare piping isometric and general arrangement drawing templates for all disciplines, plus MTO interface files for SmartPlant Materials.
• Prepare clash checks, reports, and model-review files to check 3D model quality.
• Set up global workshare for SmartPlant 3D with MSSQL and Oracle; maintain and verify daily backups.
• Follow drafting methods and standards, establish quality assurance checks, and coordinate resolution of SmartPlant 3D issues with clients, vendors, and discipline engineers.
• Develop automation enhancements and prepare project reports.
• Train designers in SmartPlant 3D discipline modules; instruct and coordinate piping designers and operators.
• Deliver accurate system designs to project requirements and support project schedule, budget, and quality.

Qualifications and experience

• Engineering graduate with a BEng, BSc, MSc, or related mechanical or technical degree.
• At least 7 years of relevant engineering experience in design application support in oil and gas or petrochemical.
• Experience with SPRD, SPR, SmartSketch, and Navisworks Manage; Smart 3D upgrade experience is mandatory.
• Experience integrating or correlating SPP&ID, S3D, SPI, and SPEL with SPF.
• Fluent English and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to conduct user training and work in a multidisciplinary team across process, mechanical, civil-structural, electrical, instrumentation, and CAD support.
• Strong leadership, coordination, analytical, and proactive capabilities in oil and gas, petrochemical, and chemical industries.
• VB (.NET) programming and MSSQL or Oracle query knowledge are assets.
• Intergraph-certified SmartPlant 3D Designer/System Administrator is preferred; ADNOC group experience is an advantage.
