Role overview
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will execute projects and support bids in Abu Dhabi, reporting to the Head of Discipline, Electrical.
The role handles design review and analysis for major projects or several smaller projects, and leads and executes local and international work.
Responsibilities
- Prepare electrical engineering documents, drawings, calculations, and project design deliverables; support process-industry design execution.
- Verify source data and concepts and coordinate the engineering document deliverable register with relevant disciplines.
- Use MS Office, SPEL, AutoCAD, MicroStation, ETAP, cable-sizing, and lighting-calculation tools; work with relay settings, coordination, and CT sizing.
- Prepare RFQs, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations; review vendor documents and design outputs for compliance.
- Review drawings and documents from other disciplines and subcontractors, obtain client approvals, and coordinate technical queries and submissions.
- Incorporate health, safety, quality, and constructability; comply with applicable laws, authority rules, and project requirements.
- Participate in E-HAZOP, HAZID, FAT, SAT, commissioning, and pre-commissioning; coordinate as-built preparation.
Qualifications
- BSc or MSc in Engineering.
- At least 15 years of relevant electrical engineering experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, and chemical industries.
- FEED and EPC experience with delivery to ADNOC Onshore is required.
- Experience with a reputed engineering consultant is advantageous.
- Fluent English is required; Arabic is an added advantage.
- Interpersonal and communication skills, teamwork, problem-solving, and a learning mindset are valued.
