Solution Architect (with Business Analysis Expertise)

Role overview

Solution architecture

• Own design across application, data, integration, security, and infrastructure layers.
• Create architecture documents, data-flow diagrams, sequence diagrams, and integration and API specifications.
• Select architecture patterns and justify trade-offs, costs, and risks.
• Review designs for feasibility, scalability, performance, security, and supportability.
• Evaluate integration approaches against failure scenarios, transaction volumes, and system dependencies.
• Validate hosting, sizing, and environment assumptions; identify technical debt and propose remediation.
• Check delivery against approved designs and escalate deviations.

Business analysis and coordination

• Elicit and document business, functional, non-functional, and technical requirements; maintain traceability to design elements and test cases.
• Facilitate business workshops and assess scope, effort, and timeline impacts of changing requirements.
• Coordinate business owners, delivery teams, and vendors; evaluate proposals and advise on technical risks and dependencies.

Experience

• 8+ years in enterprise IT, including at least 4 years as a Solution Architect, Technical Architect, or equivalent.
• Hands-on API-led and systems integration delivery in enterprise or government environments.
• Practical business analysis, requirements engineering, and stakeholder management experience.

Technical skills

• API design: REST, OpenAPI/Swagger, JSON/XML, webhooks, and event-driven patterns.
• Integration platforms, API gateways, and authentication or authorization such as OAuth2, SSO, UAE PASS, or similar.
• Cloud and infrastructure fundamentals, including networking, environments, high availability, disaster recovery, and security architecture.
• Relational databases, SQL, data mapping, UML, BPMN 2.0, and sequence diagrams.
• Modeling tools may include Visio, Lucidchart, or Enterprise Architect; Agile tools include Jira or Azure DevOps.

Certifications and languages

• TOGAF Foundation is mandatory.
• At least one is mandatory: AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or above) or Azure AZ-305.
• CBAP or PMI-PBA is preferred.
• Arabic native or fluent and fluent English are required for business and technical communication.
