Software Technical, Senior Engineer

Role overview

Technical leadership and delivery

• Lead technical execution of software development initiatives and align delivery with business and technical requirements.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Make technical decisions related to application design, development, performance, and scalability.
• Support technical roadmap planning, estimation, prioritization, and delivery planning.
• Provide technical guidance and support engineering-team problem-solving and decision-making.

Development and architecture

• Design and contribute to architectures involving microservices, distributed systems, and APIs.
• Develop and maintain production-ready software while remaining hands-on with coding.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering standards, coding best practices, and quality guidelines.
• Identify and address performance, scalability, reliability, and security concerns.

Engineering practices

• Drive adoption and effective use of CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms.
• Participate in incident management, troubleshooting, and on-call rotations when required.
• Promote Agile/Scrum practices and contribute to continuous improvement.

Collaboration and mentoring

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define technical solutions and delivery approaches.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and support their technical and professional growth.

Requirements

• Strong software development background with hands-on coding experience.
• Experience designing or contributing to microservices, distributed systems, and APIs.
• Ability to make technical decisions concerning application design, performance, and scalability.
• Ability to conduct code reviews and apply engineering standards and coding best practices.
• Ability to provide technical guidance and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
