Software Engineer

About the role

Key responsibilities

• Develop production-grade software from defined requirements and technical specifications.
• Build and maintain interfaces, databases, APIs, and client-facing displays across the healthcare platform.
• Participate in technical design discussions and implement agreed designs with guidance from senior engineers.
• Write readable, optimized, documented code that follows established best practices.
• Debug defects, identify root causes, and improve system performance and reliability.
• Create and run unit and integration tests to reduce regression risk.
• Participate in code reviews and apply feedback to improve quality.
• Support staging validation, UAT coordination, releases, and post-deployment monitoring.
• Maintain design notes, API documentation, and runbooks.
• Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, and support teams.
• Deliver assigned work on time and communicate blockers, risks, and progress.
• Build .NET expertise, learn the healthcare domain, and maintain high standards of precision.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2 to 5 years of total software development experience.
• Strong C# and .NET Core or .NET 6+ programming skills.
• Working experience with MVC architecture.
• Hands-on experience with design patterns and Entity Framework.
• Experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL, including SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views.
• Working experience with JavaScript and jQuery.
• Practical understanding of NUnit, xUnit, or MSTest and TDD principles.
• Working knowledge of Git and exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
• Angular or React experience is an advantage.
• Azure or AWS and Docker familiarity is preferred.
• Healthcare domain exposure is an advantage.
