Software Developer Co-op reporting to the Agile Development Manager and collaborating with software architecture and development teams.

What You'll Do
- Design software systems for business requirements, including technology selection, scalability, security, requirement mapping, and failover paths.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code for deployments with CloudOps specialists; contribute to platform architecture, reliability, and code quality.
- Implement proof-of-concept models, investigate difficult technical challenges, and present findings to development teams.
- Implement front-end and back-end solutions, leveraging team knowledge resources and AI tools.
- Review technical proposals and specifications and coordinate engineering investigations for buy-or-partner decisions.
- Document platform intellectual property and how the platform works; contribute telemetry and monitoring for observability and performance tracking.
- Provide real-time DevOps support, troubleshoot bugs, and provide customer technical support during high-severity platform incidents.
- Participate in system design and risk mitigation, present designs for review, facilitate knowledge transfer, and maintain peer-reviewed documentation.
What You'll Bring
- Pursuing post-secondary education in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on software development experience and knowledge of software concepts and applications.
- Knowledge of data and software architecture principles and best practices.
- Experience participating in complex software projects and working effectively in Agile development.
- A background building technical integrated products is desired, ideally in a SaaS environment.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking, organization, attention to detail, prioritization, follow-through, and written and verbal communication.
Compensation
- Expected salary is CAD $21–25 per hour.
Working Arrangement
- This is an on-site role at the Ottawa office, working collaboratively with Software Development teams.
