The Site Engineer – Fit-Out supervises and coordinates day-to-day site activities for interior fit-out works.
The role ensures execution follows approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, project schedules, and safety requirements.
The role coordinates with the project manager, consultants, subcontractors, site supervisors, joinery workshop, suppliers, and other trades.
Site execution and supervision
- Supervise daily fit-out activities and ensure work follows approved shop drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Coordinate installation of joinery, ceilings, partitions, flooring, wall finishes, doors, furniture, and other interior works.
- Monitor subcontractor and site-team progress and quality, sequence work to avoid clashes and delays, and verify dimensions and site conditions.
- Check materials delivered to site for quantity, quality, and compliance with approved specifications.
Drawings and coordination
- Review architectural, interior design, MEP, joinery, and shop drawings and coordinate technical issues with the drafting/design team.
- Identify discrepancies between drawings and site conditions and report them to the project manager.
- Ensure the latest approved drawings are used; assist with site measurements and as-built information.
- Coordinate with MEP and other trades to avoid clashes with fit-out works.
- Coordinate daily activities with the project manager, site supervisor, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, client representatives, and joinery workshop.
- Follow up on material needs, production, delivery, installation, and site priorities; attend meetings and provide progress and technical updates.
Progress and quality control
- Monitor daily progress against the project programme and prepare daily site reports and progress updates.
- Identify delays, manpower or material shortages, drawing issues, and other constraints, and escalate potential delays early.
- Assist with weekly progress reports and track completed and pending work by area or activity.
- Inspect completed work, identify defective or non-conforming work, and coordinate rectification.
- Maintain finishing and workmanship standards and coordinate inspections with consultants and client representatives.
Candidate requirements
- At least two years of experience in the fit-out industry.
- Willingness to work six days a week.
- Availability to start immediately.
- A driver's licence is preferred.
Compensation
- Pay is AED 4,000–5,000 per month.
Workplace
- Work location is in person.
