Joinery Manager

Position details

Factory and production management

• Manage day-to-day factory operations and establish efficient production processes and workflows.
• Plan and control production against project requirements, targets, and deadlines; monitor productivity and identify improvements.
• Coordinate design, drafting, cutting, CNC, production, finishing, assembly, and installation teams.
• Prepare schedules, allocate work according to capacity and priority, monitor progress, and take corrective action for delays.
• Coordinate priorities and delivery dates with project managers and planning teams; ensure finished items are ready for delivery and installation.

Drawings and materials

• Review approved shop drawings and coordinate with drafting to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.
• Ensure accurate cutting lists, material take-offs, and bills of materials use the latest approved revisions.
• Plan materials using approved drawings, bills of materials, and production schedules; coordinate timely supply with procurement and stores.
• Monitor consumption of MDF, plywood, veneer, laminates, timber, hardware, adhesives, glass, and other materials.
• Control waste, maintain appropriate stock levels, and identify material savings and efficient utilization.

People, quality, and equipment

• Manage production staff, allocate manpower, monitor productivity, attendance, discipline, and performance, and coordinate recruitment needs with HR.
• Train staff and improve skills and productivity while minimizing idle time and overtime.
• Ensure products meet approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards; establish checks at cutting, machining, assembly, finishing, and inspection stages.
• Inspect finished goods before site dispatch, reduce defects and rework, and coordinate quality actions with project managers and site teams.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs for factory machinery, including CNC machines, panel saws, edge banders, drilling machines, sanding machines, and finishing equipment.

Cost and efficiency

• Monitor production costs, material use, overtime, and manpower costs.
• Reduce unnecessary rework and waste, improve production efficiency, and use materials efficiently without compromising quality.
• Assist management with production costing and feasibility assessments when required.

• The position manages and operates a joinery factory; the described work is factory-based.

Requirements

• The role is responsible for overall management of a joinery factory and its production operations.
• Manage and supervise joinery production personnel, including carpenters, machine and CNC operators, polishers, assemblers, and helpers.
• Coordinate production with design, drafting, project management, procurement, stores, and site teams.
