Role overview

Site Civil Engineer responsibilities

• Supervise earthworks, formwork, reinforcement, and concrete casting.
• Inspect work against approved drawings and process contractor Work Inspection Requests.
• Coordinate defect correction with subcontractors and site inspectors and close non-conformance reports.
• Complete quantity take-offs and verify measurements for monthly progress certificates.
• Enforce environmental, health, and safety standards in civil work areas.

Civil Inspector responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans.
• Inspect rebar placement and formwork alignment; witness concrete casting, slump tests, and sampling.
• Monitor contractor progress and submit daily field logs.
• Identify non-conforming work and escalate it to the Site Civil Engineer.
• Check safety barricades, scaffolding safety, and PPE compliance in civil zones.

Site Civil Engineer qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least 8 years of hands-on site supervision and civil execution experience.
• Valid driver’s license is mandatory.
• Strong technical understanding of structural concrete, surveying benchmarks, and quality tests.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and engineering reporting.

Civil Inspector qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent technical diploma.
• At least 8 years of practical site inspection experience on building or infrastructure projects.
• Practical knowledge of surveying benchmarks, reinforcement details, and site test procedures.
• Strong verbal and written field reporting abilities.
