Site Mechanical Engineer responsibilities
- Supervise HVAC equipment, ductwork, plumbing, drainage, firefighting piping, sprinklers, hydrants, and fire pump installations.
- Witness hydrostatic tests, air balancing, and commissioning; review contractor submittals, vendor data, and coordinated MEP drawings.
- Ensure on-site compliance with health, safety, and fire protection codes.
Mechanical Inspector responsibilities
- Inspect plumbing, drainage, sprinklers, HVAC duct fabrication, insulation, acoustic lining, and dampers, including before ceiling closure.
- Witness hydrostatic tests and verify incoming equipment against approved material submittal tags.
- Submit daily progress and quality inspection reports to the Mechanical Engineer.
Site Mechanical Engineer qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 8 years of relevant mechanical site supervision experience.
- Valid driver's license is mandatory.
- In-depth knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, and international mechanical codes; ability to inspect, review, and approve complex installations.
Mechanical Inspector qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical diploma and at least 8 years of practical mechanical inspection experience on construction sites.
- Thorough practical knowledge of piping tests, drainage systems, and duct installations; able to identify field defects quickly.
