Key Responsibilities
- Read and study architectural plans, structural drawings, and shuttering layouts to determine dimensions and shapes.
- Measure, cut, and shape timber, plywood, and steel or system formwork (e.g., Doka, PERI).
- Build sturdy frames and panels capable of withstanding heavy wet-concrete pressure.
- Install and brace shuttering for foundations, walls, columns, and slabs while ensuring exact levels, plumb, and structural alignment.
- Apply release agents or oils to formwork surfaces to ensure smooth concrete finishes and easy stripping.
- Inspect assembled forms for gaps or defects before concrete pours, and follow site safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) rules.
- Safely strip and dismantle formwork after concrete has sufficiently cured, cleaning and stacking materials for reuse.
