Service Supervisor - Volvo Penta

Role overview

Team leadership

• Lead, motivate, develop, and train the service team toward departmental and business objectives.
• Recognize performance and introduce initiatives to improve labour efficiency and productivity.
• Support operational requirements, including CICPA and site-access permits, and coordinate timely job delivery.

Technical and operational oversight

• Lead in-house and field repair, assembly, and service activities for Volvo Penta products.
• Guide diagnostics, dismantling, inspection, and assessment of engine-component reusability.
• Oversee parts lists, costing, quotations, job assembly, and execution.
• Supervise engine testing, commissioning, and full system testing on site.
• Ensure job closeout, WIP inventory control, and documentation.

Service quality and workshop control

• Respond to customer technical inquiries and communicate with customer representatives during service work.
• Monitor service quality and adherence to company service standards; identify and recommend improvements.
• Maintain quality control, operational discipline, and order in workshop and field environments.
• Monitor working hours, professional attire, and cleanliness, and reduce repair time and operational inefficiencies.

Reporting

• Prepare operational and technical reports as requested by the Workshop Manager.
• Support job tracking, cost control, and productivity monitoring.

Qualifications and experience

• Strong experience in service operations, engine diagnostics, and repair activities.
• Proven leadership experience supervising workshop or field service teams.
• Ability to manage customer-facing technical discussions.
• A technical diploma or equivalent qualification in mechanical or automotive engineering is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Volvo Penta products is preferred.
