Role details

Technical leadership

• Lead telecom and ICT design activities, direct project teams, plan discipline work, monitor design progress, and coordinate resources.
• Review engineering outputs, uphold consistent standards, and mentor junior engineers.

Systems in scope

• Telecom infrastructure may include outside and inside plant, fibre and copper networks, duct banks, manholes, telecom rooms, distribution frames, risers, and service-provider interfaces.
• Structured cabling and data systems may include fibre and copper cabling, voice and telephone systems, LAN, WAN interfaces, Wi-Fi, network racks, and passive data-centre infrastructure.
• ICT systems may include backbone systems, network architecture, active infrastructure requirements, IP communications, redundancy, availability, and network-management interfaces.
• Where included in project scope, security systems may include CCTV, IP surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, intercom, and security control-room systems.
• Other low-current systems may include public address, voice alarm interfaces, IPTV, master clock, audio-visual, digital signage, parking, building management, smart-building, IoT, and emergency communications.
• Fire alarm and other life-safety systems are coordinated with the responsible Fire and Life Safety or Electrical discipline when outside telecom scope.

Infrastructure planning and documentation

• Develop telecom network master plans, external fibre networks, duct-bank routing, telecom corridors, manhole layouts, cable routes, network topology, and redundancy strategies.
• Coordinate service-provider connections, building entry points, future network expansion, and utility corridors.
• Ensure designs support maintainability, resilience, future expansion, and compatibility with Saudi telecom service-provider requirements.
• Lead preparation and review of telecom design basis reports, ICT design criteria, system philosophies, network architecture and schematic diagrams, system block diagrams, fibre and cabling diagrams, and telecom room layouts.
