Senior Technical Engineer

Job Purpose

Role Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Develop IT solutions that meet customer requirements, ensuring robust, appropriate, high-quality design conforming to corporate standards and technical strategy.
• Ensure developed architecture/solution meets service level requirements for availability, capacity, continuity, security, performance, and reliability.
• Develop solutions architecture for assigned projects with established EA standards and support technology advancements and adaptation of new technologies.
• Collaborate with other IT Technology teams to implement ongoing monitoring of relevant technology to ensure Level 1 & 2 incidents are configured within EMS.
• Guide Project Manager/Technology team managers for solution definition, technical design, and development of in-house developed solutions delivered per agreed costs and timescales.
• Ensure assigned incidents are resolved within agreed service levels and problems are defined and analysed in line with the Problem Management Process.
• Own and manage changes within the technology area.
• Publish and maintain high-quality documentation and data catalogue for the technology area.
• Manage end-of-life replacement of equipment and/or software within the technology area.
• Ensure process and enhancement specifications are translated into effective programs with error-free code using enterprise development tools, methods, and languages.

Qualifications

• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering.
• 5+ years working in a related IT Engineering role.

Knowledge & Skills

• Expert in endpoint management using Microsoft Intune, SCCM, and Entra ID.
• Skilled in Windows 11, macOS, iOS, Android, and rugged devices.
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft 365, Modern Workplace, and endpoint security.
• Skilled in application deployment, patching, compliance, and device lifecycle management.
• Experienced in enterprise printing and printer estate management.
• Knowledgeable in Active Directory, Entra ID, Conditional Access, and endpoint security controls.
• Skilled in technical design, automation, and service improvement.
• Knowledgeable in AI productivity tools, including Microsoft 365 Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, and related workplace AI technologies.
• Experienced in Level 3 support, problem management, and root-cause analysis.
• Strong technical documentation and stakeholder management skills.
