Senior Technical DevOps Engineer - Container Platform - Emiratisation

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead cloud adoption and migration discovery with architects and security teams and shape DevOps and cloud architectures.
• Automate change management, resilience, monitoring, capacity planning, and emergency response for assigned products.
• Lead product service reliability, scalability, and performance; improve product lifecycles and continuous deployment flow.
• Review operational environments, reduce failure, troubleshoot infrastructure, expand monitoring, and manage technical operations.
• Work with release, product, and security teams on change strategies, canary deployments, and rollback.
• Automate processes, maintain deployment pipelines, and deliver technical designs and production-ready code.
• Build and operate software development, CI, and CD environments using cloud application principles such as 12-factor apps.
• Advise and architect security solutions using DevSecOps principles; guide solution maintenance and management.
• Apply reliability principles to availability, latency, performance, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning.

Qualifications and experience

• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in a relevant field, including Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience across OpenShift, Kubernetes, EKS, AKS, Linux, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD, GitOps, Helm, container security, and cloud technologies.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container platforms; experience managing OpenShift, EKS, and AKS.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, workloads, networking, storage, Services, Ingress, RBAC, ConfigMaps, Secrets, and namespaces.
• Experience with Docker/OCI containers, registries, Helm, Kubernetes Operators, Terraform/IaC, and configuration automation.
• Experience with Ansible and Bash and/or Python scripting; hands-on CI/CD and GitOps using tools such as Git, GitLab, Jenkins, and Argo CD.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud security, including secrets management, vulnerability scanning, image security, and policy enforcement.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk and troubleshooting complex platform issues.
• Understanding of reliability, scalability, performance, high availability, backup, disaster recovery, security, and compliance.
