About the role

Site engineering responsibilities

• Supervise structural works for compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Review structural and shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and technical documents.
• Inspect foundations, reinforced concrete, steel structures, columns, beams, slabs, retaining structures, and other structural elements.
• Ensure work follows approved designs, quality standards, applicable codes, and regulations.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, subcontractors, and disciplines to resolve construction and technical issues.
• Review and respond to RFIs, technical submittals, inspection requests, and project documentation.
• Identify defects and non-conformities and ensure corrective actions; guide site teams and contractors.
• Attend site and technical meetings, monitor progress, and coordinate structural works with architectural, MEP, civil, and other disciplines.
• Verify contractor work against approved IFC drawings and maintain inspection, site observation, technical issue, and progress records.
• Support the Project Manager or Resident Engineer on structural matters and ensure compliance with UAE authority, health and safety, and quality requirements.

Required qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• 10–15 years of structural engineering and site supervision experience, with strong building construction and structural works experience.
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete and structural construction.
• Understanding of structural drawings, specifications, IFC drawings, shop drawings, and technical submittals.
• Experience reviewing RFIs, method statements, material submittals, and inspection requests.
• Knowledge of construction quality standards, site inspection procedures, and UAE authority requirements.
• Ability to coordinate with contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams; strong communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

Preferred qualifications

• Previous UAE experience is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of structural analysis/design software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, or similar is an advantage.
• A UAE driving licence is an advantage.
• Candidates must meet the stated experience requirements and be available for a site-based position in Ras Al Khaimah.
