Role purpose

Participate independently in an agile feature team delivering software solutions and products for Emirates Group businesses.

Perform technical design, software development, implementation, maintenance, and problem resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze application requirements and contribute to technical design with senior technical engineers.
  • Convert technical solutions for small-to-medium initiatives into low-level designs and working code.
  • Write secure, optimized code following approved standards.
  • Provide rotational on-call support and resolve production issues within SLAs.
  • Ensure unit testing in the CI/CD pipeline, fix defects, and minimize rework.
  • Use refactoring to reduce code debt and implement logging and monitoring hooks.
  • Stay current with relevant technologies and apply learning to improve code quality.
  • Follow IT coding standards and contribute to engineering playbooks and standards.

Qualifications and experience

  • Software engineering experience is required; agile experience is preferred.
  • Computer science, computational mathematics, computer engineering, or software engineering qualification is listed.
  • Experience with technologies including Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Integration Cloud, XML Publisher, and Visual Builder Cloud Service.

Knowledge and skills

  • Enterprise software design and development.
  • Understanding of unit testing, functional testing, and test automation.
  • System design, technical analysis, and technical design skills.
  • Experience designing, coding, and maintaining medium-to-large applications or modules.
  • Strong agile software development skills.

Certifications

  • Certifications in Salesforce, Maximo, full-stack development, UI expertise, ERP, or mainframe are listed.
