Role overview
Senior Quantity Surveyor on the Project Management team, supporting construction supervision with project financial and contractual matters.
Responsibilities
- Participate in commercial meetings and manage project financial and contractual matters.
- Review contractor monthly payment applications, finalize payment certificates, and check measurements for interim payments, provisional sums, and variations.
- Maintain cost and quantity records; calculate interim and final quantities in consultation with the Senior Contract Manager.
- Evaluate new-work unit rates, monitor day works, assist with variation orders, and assess contractor claims.
- Check contractual requirements; prepare monthly financial statements and audit contractor payments as required.
- Monitor final cost estimates and prepare the final account with supporting documentation.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying or civil engineering.
- 10–12 years of quantity surveying experience on roads, highways, and general infrastructure projects; Gulf-region experience is preferred.
Desired skills
- Sound knowledge of contractual relationships and Standard Methods of Measurement.
- Computer literacy and ability to use project-specific engineering and construction software.
- Fluent written and spoken English with strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Chartered quantity surveyor status, such as MRICS, is preferred.
