Parsons seeks a Marine Inspector for a civil marine engineering mega-project with a construction supervision team.
Inspection duties
- Inspect marine works such as revetments, seawalls, and quay walls, and verify work against approved drawings, specifications, and design standards.
- Monitor workmanship, identify deviations or defects, recommend corrective actions, and review shop drawings.
- Inspect rebar placement for spacing, alignment, and anchorage; coordinate with engineers, contractors, and project managers on structural issues.
- Witness and verify concrete strength, rebar tensile, and soil compaction tests; promote safe handling and construction practices.
- Maintain detailed inspection records and prepare project reports.
Required qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years of experience in marine work.
- Working knowledge of structural construction, marine works, excavation and backfill, foundations and piles, beach formation, rock revetments, quay walls, work around water, and concrete installation.
- Technical knowledge of infrastructure drainage, open-cut excavation, trenching, grading, and construction near sensitive watercourses.
- Knowledge of dredging operations and piling installation, including driven concrete, pipe, and sheet piles and combi wall structures.
- Experience with stockpile management, onsite trucking, and mass excavation and backfilling on the sea.
Desired qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of construction field supervision and experience with piling, foundation installation, and marine construction are desired.
- Large civil construction project experience in a marine environment is desired; GCC experience is an advantage.
- Sound communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills are desired.
