Lead day-to-day construction supervision for major marine and environmental works, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, approved drawings and specifications, and HSE standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead site supervision for cofferdams, dredging and reclamation, piling, seawalls, revetments, quay walls, and associated works.
- Coordinate with the Environmental Agency Abu Dhabi to obtain Construction Environmental Management Plan approvals.
- Manage supervision of marine assets and associated structures; supervise engineers, inspectors, and surveyors.
- Coordinate with other discipline Senior Resident Engineers and design engineers to resolve technical issues.
- Review contractor shop drawings, method statements, RFIs, and technical proposals.
- Maintain daily records, review team reports, and monitor progress and productivity.
- Coordinate contractor schedules and resources, identify risks, and drive corrective actions.
- Advise on contractual and construction matters; ensure safety procedures are followed.
- Provide site direction and instructions and submit regular progress reports.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- At least 15 years of experience in marine construction supervision.
- Strong understanding of contractual relationships and construction supervision processes.
- Proactive problem-solving approach and strong computer literacy for reporting, recordkeeping, and project systems.
- Fluent written and spoken English with strong technical writing skills.
Desired experience and skills
- Adequate experience across marine and environmental works, including cofferdams, dredging and reclamation, piling, seawalls, revetments, and quay walls, is desired.
- Multidisciplinary and multi-contractor coordination capability is desired; GCC experience is an advantage.
