Parsons seeks an Assistant Resident Engineer for Materials to join its Abu Dhabi site team.
Responsibilities
- Review contractor material submissions and recommend approval.
- Oversee sampling, testing, recordkeeping, and reporting under applicable standards, manuals, plans, specifications, and directives.
- Analyze test results promptly and report failing or borderline results to the Resident Engineer.
- Verify corrective actions and document remedial work to meet specifications.
- Coordinate priorities and schedules with the contractor.
- Inspect delivered materials for conformance with approved sources, suppliers, and project requirements.
- Maintain test and corrective-action records; monitor testing frequency and materials compliance.
- Track and review site testing and certificates of compliance.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from a recognized university.
- 10–15 years of relevant experience, including materials and quality control on major road, highway, and bridge projects.
- Proven experience with infrastructure projects, steel structures, and steel bridges.
Desired skills
- Quality assurance specifications and quality control experience is desired.
- Material-submission, laboratory-report, and technical-report review; acceptance sampling, testing, and quality measures are desired.
- Contractual knowledge, computer literacy, and familiarity with project engineering and construction software are desired.
- Fluent written and spoken English with strong technical writing and communication skills is desired.
