The role operates as a recognized authority, leads large cross-division projects, develops strategy, and mentors lower-level employees; it does not primarily manage employees.
Responsibilities
- Provide complex financial analysis and determine effective methods for achieving business objectives.
- Advise business leaders on long-term strategic decisions and forecast financial results.
- Lead complex initiatives, including coordinating analysts across finance areas and geographies.
- Drive globally impactful process improvements and policy development.
- Represent the business unit in cross-regional and cross-functional planning.
- Mentor and guide analysts.
- Analyze financial data, report results, support forecasting, and help drive cross-business initiatives.
- Promote GAAP and financial policy adherence, accurate financial representation, and strong business controls.
Education and experience
- A first-level university degree focused on business or economics is required.
- Typically 10+ years of experience as a financial analyst and experience across a variety of finance functions are required.
- An advanced degree or accounting certification such as CPA or MBA is strongly preferred.
Knowledge and skills
- Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis, plus excellent analytical skills.
- Superior business application skills, such as Microsoft Excel, and strong business acumen.
- Strong communication, influencing, teamwork, and project management skills.
