Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer in Assystem’s Fusion and Modular Nuclear business unit.
Work across projects developing technical solutions for net-zero power generation.
Key responsibilities
- Lead design work for personnel airlocks, equipment access hatches, fuel transfer channels, penetrations and specialist nuclear doors.
- Conduct DFMEA and HAZID; maintain human factors checklists and the project risk register.
- Oversee design packages and coordinate interfaces between engineering teams, suppliers and stakeholders.
- Prepare technical specifications for procurement, fabrication and installation of cooling water system components.
- Collaborate across engineering and project functions.
Candidate profile
- Multidisciplinary engineering team leadership and oversight of steam cycle modelling.
- Experience in project budgeting, lifecycle planning, cooling water equipment and requirements capture.
- Knowledge of nuclear regulatory compliance, systems engineering and subcontractor management.
- Relevant CEng accreditation is listed in the profile; eligibility for minimum SC security clearance is required.
- Strong communication, leadership, integrity, independent working and delivery focus.
- Able to travel to Assystem offices and customer sites within the UK.
