Senior Planning Engineer

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain baseline programmes, detailed construction schedules, and resource-loaded plans.
• Monitor progress against targets, analyze variances, and develop recovery programmes and updates.
• Support earned value management, delay analysis, and claims.
• Prepare look-ahead schedules, progress dashboards, productivity reports, and forecasts.
• Coordinate schedules with construction, engineering, procurement, and plant teams based on site conditions and resources.
• Assess critical-path impacts, maintain delay records, and support extension-of-time submissions.
• Present reports on risks, constraints, and required actions.

Requirements and relevant knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline and at least 10 years of relevant planning experience.
• Strong background in specialist foundation and geotechnical works, including piling, shoring, ground anchors, testing, and soil improvement.
• Knowledge of construction sequences, equipment requirements, productivity rates, foundation design deliverables, and authority approval processes.
• Knowledge of foundation and marine construction methodologies, critical-path analysis, resource planning, earned value management, and progress measurement.
• Advanced Primavera P6 proficiency; strong Microsoft Excel and Power BI skills.
• Delay claims, disruption analysis, and arbitration support experience is advantageous.
• FIDIC familiarity and UAE/GCC project experience are advantageous or preferred.
• Strong communication and coordination skills; proactive, practical engagement with site teams and tendering.
