The Role
Perform mechanical design using international standards and local regulations for building utilities on aviation projects, including airport terminals, MRO hangars, and control towers.
Support project design from concept through construction and commissioning while meeting local authority, aviation, and international requirements.
Design and Engineering
- Lead plumbing and compressed air system design; HVAC design experience is a strong plus.
- Calculate flow rates, pressure heads, and pipe sizing.
- Develop controls, sequences of operation, and Building Management System integrations.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant engineering codes and standards.
Authorities and BIM Coordination
- Manage local authority approvals, NOCs, and permits for design documents.
- Use BIM software throughout the design lifecycle.
- Run clash detection and coordination using Navisworks and BIM 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud.
What You Bring
- 10–15 years of mechanical design experience, heavily focused on UAE/GCC projects; aviation experience is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering eligible for MOE recognition; UAE Society of Engineers membership is preferred.
- Knowledge of UAE authority requirements, including DM, DCD, and DEWA.
- Mastery of Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk Construction Cloud platforms.
- Problem-solving ability, adaptability, and collaboration under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
