Role overview

Technical people leader accountable for the architectural integrity, stability, governance, and extensibility of RBC's Workday platform.

Combines hands-on integration, configuration, security, and data work with solutions design and leadership of functional configuration, security, and data analysts.

Leadership and design

  • Prioritize team work across business-as-usual requests and project initiatives; build capability through cross-training and growth paths.
  • Promote documentation, peer review, and knowledge sharing.
  • Own Workday functional design standards for business processes, security groups, data model, and integrations.
  • Define reusable design patterns; review configuration, tenant customizations, and integrations for fit, scalability, and risk.
  • Lead complex cross-module and cross-system initiatives, including module rollouts, M&A integrations, and AI/agent data access patterns.

Integration, platform, security, and data

  • Co-design and oversee integrations using Workday Studio, EIBs, Core Connector, and Workday APIs or web services.
  • Map dependencies across Workday, ServiceNow, SAP, downstream and vendor systems, and data platforms.
  • Set tenant/environment strategy and release practices with IT, including regression and impact assessment.
  • Maintain Workday-SAP security frameworks and oversee data synchronization, data quality, and extracts.
  • Partner with HR and IT on governed data for reporting, Snowflake, AI agents, and downstream use; establish quality controls and peer review.

Collaboration

  • Serve as senior technical escalation point for design conflicts, feasibility, and complex troubleshooting.
  • Mentor Digital Solutions teams and partner with ServiceNow, IT, enterprise architecture, and security teams.

Required qualifications

  • At least 7 years of Workday experience with expert-level technical capability.
  • Practical experience with Phenom, VNDLY, ServiceNow, S/4 HANA, Microsoft access management, and other global enterprise applications.
  • Prior people management experience, ideally leading technical or analyst teams.
  • Deep Workday data model, security architecture, and business process framework expertise.
  • Hands-on Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connector, PECI, RaaS, and API integration experience.
  • Experience managing tenant and release strategy across a multi-module Workday deployment.
  • Strong enterprise data governance and security knowledge; ability to design scalable solutions from ambiguous requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication across technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred qualifications

  • Workday certification in Integrations, HCM Core, Procure to Pay, or Security.
  • AI or data platform experience, including pipelines to Snowflake or similar.
  • Large, matrixed enterprise experience with formal change/release governance; exposure to ServiceNow or other HR service delivery platforms.

Success in the role

Use sound judgment to decline configuration requests that compromise long-term design integrity, with clear rationale.

Balance individual technical contribution with setting standards for others and documenting design decisions.

Work details

  • Full-time regular salaried position with 37.5 work hours per week.
