Senior Infra/Road Draftsman

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Prepare road, infrastructure and utility drawings to project requirements, design standards and authority guidelines using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Produce road plans, profiles, sections, typical details and construction drawings, including layouts for junctions, pavements, kerbs, footpaths and markings.
• Prepare utility drawings for existing and proposed networks, including stormwater drainage, sewerage, water supply, irrigation and other services.
• Coordinate layouts with civil, structural, MEP and other disciplines; convert engineering information into accurate drawings.
• Revise drawings in response to engineer, project manager, client and authority comments and coordinate resubmissions.
• Prepare Abu Dhabi authority submissions and approvals documentation and ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
• Maintain drafting standards and document control; review junior draftsmen's work for accuracy and compliance.
• Manage drafting assignments, monitor deliverables and deadlines, and provide technical guidance to junior and intermediate draftsmen.
• Support meetings and tender, design development, authority submission and construction-documentation stages.

Required qualifications and experience

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Drafting or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of relevant infrastructure, roads and utilities drafting experience.
• Strong AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience; engineering consultancy or design consultant experience is mandatory.
• Proven Abu Dhabi infrastructure and road project experience and strong knowledge of local authority requirements and submissions.
• Experience preparing authority approval documents, road and utility drawings, plans and profiles, cross-sections, longitudinal sections and detailed layouts.
• Previous senior or team-lead drafting experience managing drafting activities.
• Ability to review drawings, identify technical discrepancies and understand construction details and drafting standards.
• Immediate joiners are highly preferred.
