HSE Engineer (Demolition Project)

Role overview

Workplace and employment

• Full-time role with in-person work at the demolition site.
• Immediate joiners are preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the project HSE Management Plan and ensure demolition follows approved method statements, risk assessments, and safety procedures.
• Inspect the site, monitor high-risk activities, and review risk assessments, JSA, method statements, and Permit-to-Work procedures.
• Deliver toolbox talks and briefings; check compliance, personal protective equipment, safe access, barriers, signage, and exclusion zones.
• Monitor safety for heavy equipment, lifting, work at height, temporary works, and other high-risk activities.
• Coordinate with project teams and subcontractors; investigate incidents and near misses and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain HSE records, inspection and incident reports, and toolbox-talk records; support audits, inspections, and emergency drills.
• Monitor environmental controls for dust, noise, debris, waste, and site cleanliness; follow up corrective actions and provide project updates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in occupational health and safety, engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant HSE experience and proven high-rise demolition project experience are mandatory.
• Experience with large-scale building, construction, or structural demolition projects.
• Knowledge of demolition safety procedures, risk controls, UAE HSE requirements, and construction safety practices.
• Experience preparing and reviewing risk assessments, method statements, JSA, PTW, and HSE documentation.
• Knowledge of incident investigation, emergency procedures, and safety inspections.
• Valid UAE driving license is mandatory.
• Good communication, coordination, and reporting skills; ability to work in a demanding site environment.
• Immediate joiners are highly preferred.

Preferred skills

• High-rise building demolition, structural demolition, or dismantling experience.
• Experience with heavy machinery and demolition equipment; working-at-height and lifting-operation safety knowledge.
• Hazard identification, risk assessment, and coordination with multiple site teams and subcontractors.
