The role
The Senior ICT-SAS Engineer supports design, supervision, testing, commissioning, and handover of ICT and Special Airport Systems across major aviation and infrastructure projects.
The work combines technical design support and site supervision to ensure compliance with project requirements, standards, regulations, and client expectations.
What you'll do
- Develop and review ICT/SAS design deliverables from concept through IFC, including architectures, layouts, specifications, schematics, cable schedules, and reports.
- Review contractor submissions and design proposals for compliance with project requirements, regulations, and standards.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces and resolve technical and integration issues.
- Monitor installation of cabling, fibre, CCTV, access control, public address, communications, security, and specialist airport systems on site.
- Review and witness FAT, SAT, integration testing, commissioning, and operational trials.
- Track non-conformities and corrective actions, maintain technical records, and guide engineering and BIM resources.
- Monitor schedules and technical risks; support meetings and coordinate with clients, contractors, operators, authorities, and suppliers.
- Lead snagging and de-snagging and review close-out and handover documentation.
Experience and education
- At least 10 years of postgraduate experience in ICT, telecommunications, security systems, or SAS, including design and site supervision.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, or Computer Engineering, ICT, or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience delivering ICT and airport systems projects in complex infrastructure environments.
Technical expertise
- Knowledge of structured cabling, fibre optics, LAN/WAN/WLAN, DAS, TETRA/radio, CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, public address, intercom, IPTV, digital signage, data centres, and operational technology networks.
- Experience reviewing technical submissions, coordinating interfaces, managing inspections and commissioning, and making technical recommendations.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM platforms, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience in digital and AI-enabled engineering environments, with attention to professional judgment, output quality, and traceability.
Additional qualifications
- Working knowledge of UAE regulations, aviation standards, and relevant international standards is highly desirable.
- Experience with ICT design and analysis tools is advantageous.
- BICSI RCDD, CCNA/CCNP, CISSP, PMP, ASIS PSP/CPP, or equivalent certifications are advantageous.
