The role
Perform mechanical design using international standards and local regulations.
Design building utility systems for aviation projects, including airport terminals, MRO hangars, and control towers.
Support project design from concept through construction and commissioning while meeting local authority regulations, aviation requirements, and international standards.
Design and engineering
- Lead design of plumbing and compressed air systems; HVAC design experience is a strong plus.
- Calculate flow rates, pressure heads, and pipe sizing.
- Develop controls, sequences of operation, and Building Management System integrations.
- Ensure design compliance with applicable engineering codes and standards.
Approvals and BIM coordination
- Manage and secure local authority approvals, NOCs, and permits for design documents.
- Use BIM software throughout the design lifecycle.
- Run clash detection and coordination with Navisworks and BIM 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud.
Experience and qualifications
- 10–15 years of mechanical design experience, heavily focused on UAE/GCC projects; aviation experience is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering eligible for MOE recognition; UAE Society of Engineers membership is preferred.
- Knowledge of UAE authority requirements, including DM, DCD, and DEWA.
- Mastery of Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk Construction Cloud platforms.
- Strong problem-solving, adaptability, and collaboration under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
