The role

Design and engineering

• Own electrical design from initial concept to tender-ready documentation using Autodesk Revit (BIM), AutoCAD, and AI design platforms.
• Design MV/LV distribution, generators, UPS, lighting, fire alarms, BMS/SCADA, solar PV grids, and EV charging infrastructure.
• Perform load calculations, short-circuit mapping, voltage-drop assessments, and protection coordination studies using ETAP or equivalent software.
• Design airport electrical systems in alignment with IATA ADRM and ICAO Annex standards.
• Apply GCC/UAE authority codes, including DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, and SEC.
• Integrate Estidama and LEED methodologies and collaborate with quantity surveyors on Bills of Quantities and cost estimates.

Site supervision

• Review and clear shop drawings, material submittals, safety method statements, and Inspection and Test Plans.
• Supervise field installations for compliance with safety regulations, engineering codes, and contract clauses.
• Conduct scheduled site checks through Work Inspection Requests and provide technical feedback to optimize installation quality.

Experience and education

• 8–10 years of electrical design experience, including 3 or more years on BIM-enabled projects.
• Aviation project experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.

Credentials and technical expertise

• Active UAE Society of Engineers membership and an Abu Dhabi engineering license, or explicit eligibility to obtain one, are mandatory.
• Power-user capability with Revit (BIM), AutoCAD, and Navisworks, plus cloud collaboration using BIM 360.
• Practical experience with AI-driven electrical design tools and engineering simulation software such as ETAP/Amtech and Dialux.
• Deep working knowledge of British Standards, NFPA, IEC, and UAE municipal requirements.
• Fluent written and spoken English, adaptability, problem-solving ability, and a collaborative mindset.
