Senior Engineer - Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) - Platform Modernization

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks and suites for the modernized platform.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and product managers to understand system architecture, requirements, and technical specifications.
• Develop test plans, strategies, and scenarios for new features, integrations, and performance enhancements.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, continuous feedback, and early defect detection.
• Analyze defect root causes and trends and work with development teams on resolution.
• Champion quality assurance, test automation, and performance testing practices.
• Mentor junior SDETs and support the QA organization’s technical growth.
• Participate in design and code reviews and provide feedback to improve quality and testability.
• Keep current with trends and emerging technologies in software testing and platform modernization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• At least seven years of SDET or QA experience with a strong focus on test automation.
• Expertise in automated frameworks; examples include Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, TestNG, or JUnit.
• Strong programming skills in at least one object-oriented language: Java, Python, C#, or Go.
• Extensive API testing experience with tools or frameworks such as Postman, Rest Assured, or Karate.
• Understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP and experience testing cloud-native applications and microservices.
• Experience with Docker or Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with JMeter or LoadRunner and performance testing concepts is desirable.
• Expertise in Kong, Kafka, and AWS; understanding of Tibco EMS and DataPower; proficiency with AI to drive migrations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Platform modernization or legacy migration experience is highly desirable.
