Job Description

  • A skilled engineering professional who independently performs the full range of responsibilities for routine projects.
  • Applies established engineering methods and solutions to typical problems, contributing to the design, planning, management and delivery of projects.
  • Supports the delivery of innovative, client focused engineering solutions across GHD's sectors including transport, water, property & buildings, energy, and environment.
  • Focuses on broadening technical skills, progressing toward professional accreditation if applicable, and developing capabilities in project management and client engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.
  • Supervise others on a construction project, working within established operational systems.
  • Help others get the most out of external communications systems by offering support and advice.
  • Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions.
  • Communicate the local action plan; explain how this relates to the function's strategy and action plan and to the broader organization's mission and vision.
  • Identify, within the team, instances of noncompliance with the organization's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct.
  • Provide coaching to team members to develop their skills.
  • Respond to personal objectives and use performance management systems to improve personal performance; or monitor the performance of the team, allocate work and review completion.
  • Plan and coordinate testing and inspection of products and processes. Implement corrective actions or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assign short term work schedules to a team of subordinates in order to achieve expectations while following established timelines.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level
  • General Experience: Experienced practitioner able to work unsupervised (13 months to 3 years)
  • Managerial Experience: Experience of general supervision of more junior colleagues (7 to 12 months)
