Experienced Senior Electrical Testing Engineer role focused on LV/MV electrical testing and commissioning.
The role leads site testing, supervises technical teams, and coordinates project delivery safely and efficiently.
Testing and commissioning duties
- Lead and execute on-site electrical testing and commissioning activities.
- Test transformers, including insulation resistance, polarization index, winding resistance, turns ratio, vector group, and OLTC checks.
- Coordinate transformer oil testing and dissolved gas analysis.
- Test HV/MV cables and accessories, including continuity, sheath, VLF, Hi-Pot, joints, and terminations as applicable.
- Test switchgear and panels, verify interlocks, and conduct basic commissioning.
- Support relay testing with secondary injection kits; verify control wiring and interfaces.
- Prepare and review test reports and technical documentation.
- Supervise engineers and technicians, allocate resources, and manage testing schedules.
- Ensure quality, safety, project-specification, and standards compliance.
- Coordinate with clients, EPC contractors, OEMs, and stakeholders; contribute to meetings, proposals, service development, and business development.
Mandatory qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering; a separate education entry lists a bachelor's degree as required.
- At least 5 years of hands-on LV/MV electrical testing and commissioning experience; the description gives a 5–10-year experience range.
- Valid QatarEnergy or KAHRAMAA approval is mandatory.
- Strong technical reporting, team leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of relevant electrical testing standards and site safety requirements.
Technical experience
- Strong understanding of relevant IEC/IEEE standards is specified.
- Experience with sweep frequency response analysis (SFRA) is preferred.
