Senior Electrical Engineer-Transportation

Role overview

Construction supervision and technical coordination

• Supervise electrical construction for compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contracts, and standards.
• Inspect highway electrical installations, including street lighting, ITS, traffic signals, power distribution, substations, communication networks, and applicable tunnel and roadway systems.
• Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and work procedures.
• Conduct site inspections and quality audits; monitor contractor progress against schedules.
• Guide site teams, clients, and contractors; resolve technical queries, RFIs, non-conformance reports, and design issues.
• Coordinate with design teams and participate in value engineering and constructability reviews as required.

Quality, handover, and stakeholders

• Verify testing and commissioning, witness FATs and SATs as required, and review inspection, test, snagging, and commissioning documents.
• Support project closeout and final handover documentation.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, utility authorities, and government agencies; attend progress, technical, and coordination meetings.
• Support utility-diversion interfaces and integration with other infrastructure systems.

Health, safety, and environment

• Promote HSE compliance and ensure electrical installations follow approved safety procedures and project requirements.
• Participate in safety inspections, incident investigations, and risk assessments as required.

Qualifications and experience

• At least 15 years of professional electrical engineering experience.
• Proven experience with leading international engineering consultancy firms and significant construction supervision or site-based work.
• Demonstrated experience on major roads, highways, transportation, or infrastructure projects.
• Previous experience working in Saudi Arabia is essential.
• Strong understanding of transport and infrastructure electrical systems; experience coordinating with contractors, utility authorities, and government stakeholders.
• Track record of delivering projects to quality, safety, and schedule requirements.
