Senior Design Mechanical Engineer role for a large thermal power project in Jeddah.
Responsibilities
- Prepare specifications and manage design work with the contractor; coordinate design reviews with the consultant and internal discipline teams.
- Review EPC submittals, including master document lists, design criteria, PFDs, P&IDs, general arrangements, and heat and mass balance diagrams.
- Review and verify calculations, studies, CFD modeling, and manuals.
- Attend FATs if required and review FAT procedures and reports.
- Review construction, commissioning, reliability, and performance-test procedures and reports.
- Review method statements, procurement and vendor documents, vendor drawings, design and field changes, IFC/AFC/AFI drawings, red markups, and as-built drawings.
- Review HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, risk assessments, and mitigation measures.
- Evaluate claims and change orders and prepare the project close-out report.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering approved by the Saudi Council of Engineers.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in large thermal power projects.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant international standards and proficiency in relevant design software and MS Office.
- Familiarity with MIS, good English communication skills, and leadership qualities.
