Senior Site Construction Engineer
Role Overview
Tractebel is Owner's Engineer for the Al Khushaybi Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Independent Power Project in Al Qassim Region, Saudi Arabia.
The Al Khushaybi BESS facility has a capacity of 500 MW with 4 hours of storage duration (2,000 MWh).
Tractebel provides independent technical oversight and assurance including design review, engineering management, technology assessment, construction supervision, testing and commissioning support, and compliance verification.
The role supports delivery of a flagship utility-scale energy storage project, ensuring technical excellence, quality, safety, reliability, and timely execution.
The successful candidate coordinates with the Developer, EPC Contractors, OEMs, Grid Operator, SPPC, and other stakeholders to meet schedule, budget, and performance requirements.

Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Supervises construction works to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Monitors quality, progress, and workmanship and witnesses inspections and tests.
- Coordinates all Engineer's site services and disciplines and interfaces with EPC and Client teams.
- Ensures site execution aligns with design intent and applicable standards.
- Identifies non-conformities, site risks, and delays, and ensures timely escalation.
- Prepares and submits regular site progress and event reports.
- Maintains accurate site records and supports milestone achievement and handover.
- Acts as focal point for all site-related matters from the Owner's Engineer side.
Education and Experience
- Mandatory: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Mandatory: Must have substation experience in KSA with SEC and National Grid.
- Minimum 8 years of experience.
- Preferred: relevant professional certification related to the role or discipline.
- Preferred: professional membership or accreditation where applicable.
- Preferred: software, system, or tool certification relevant to the role.
- Preferred: experience with BESS integration along with grid.

- English.
