Senior Design Electrical Engineer responsible for electrical design review and coordination for a large thermal power project.
The role covers design review activities for a base and detailed engineering scope on an LSTK steam power plant gas conversion project.
Responsibilities
- Prepare specifications and manage design work with the contractor; coordinate design reviews with the consultant and internal disciplines.
- Review EPC documents including master document lists, design criteria, schematics, single-line diagrams, interface drawings, load lists, and electrical equipment drawings.
- Review calculations, studies, manuals, vendor and supplier design documents, and proposed design or field changes.
- Attend factory acceptance tests when required and review FAT procedures and reports.
- Review construction, installation, commissioning, reliability, and performance-test procedures and reports.
- Review procurement materials, IFC/AFC/AFI drawings, red markups, as-built drawings, claims, change orders, and close-out reports.
- Review electrical HAZOP, risk assessments, and mitigation measures.
Experience and requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering approved by the Saudi Council of Engineers.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in large thermal power projects.
- Experience in electrical design and engineering and review of EPC-submitted engineering documents.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant international standards and proficiency in relevant design software.
- Well versed in MS Office and familiar with MIS; good English communication and leadership qualities.
